Arrogance

Not long ago a new Army Wife asked me for some orientation on how to get her passport and stuff like that because she was about to join her husband in Germany. I helped her out all I could and she appreciated it...or so she said. Shortly after that she began writing on her facebook status how great and super cool is to be an Army Wife (she's still in the Army honeymoon period apparently) thing is, some other new wives started to worry because they couldn't feel that same way especially since most of them had to go through a deployment immediately after AIT.

Anyways I explained to them that this other Army wife was still in her honeymoon period and that it sometimes takes time to realize the Army can be a b!tch sometimes. Things continued so I had to let the honeymooner know that some other women were worrying and that it was nice that she felt that way BUT she had to be aware things won't always be perfect. She needed to be ready for anything.

Thing is...she updated her status letting everyone know that she didn't need help because her friend in Germany knew all she needed to know and because if she needed to know something she could just look it up somewhere. Anyways...it made mad but I let it go. Today she asked me what an LES is and why if she's stationed in Germany do they have to pay Puerto Rico's taxes. Karma is b!tch! LOL! Of course I helped her but that doesn't mean I now like arrogant people.

Humbleness opens so many doors, a simple thank you does wonders. You never know when you'll need help from someone so we should just appreciate the help we get, help others when they need it, and swallow our pride when someone knows more and better than you. After all...isn't that why some people go through different stuff before others? I'm not a smarty pants, never been one, and will never be...I just enjoy when life gives me the reason....after all who doesn't?!
